Bronze Coffee Beans with Sterling Wire Earrings I have a close relationship with coffee beans, so they have become part of my jewelry content from time to time. These bronze beans are oxidized and polished, then coated with PermaLac to prevent tarnish.  Calipers holding the beans are made from hammered. shaped sterling silver wire. For a long time I have made drawings of jewelry with eyes, and these are the first I have rendered. Each drawing features an eye that floats in front of a landscape background of trees, water, clouds and sky. Along the edges a colorful border pattern surrounds. Starfish in the Waves Copper Resin Earrings We love the sea at Alone Star. This summer we found live starfish in the waves along a Gulf coast beach that inspired these earrings.  The drawings are created with richly colored prismacolor pencil and topped with a dome of clear resin that despite its tough durability, gives a water effect. All is contained within handmade copper bezels. The contrast of the blue colors in the drawings against the wild, crazy colors of the heat-treated copper bezels makes for a lovely complementary scheme.
