New Grasses Necklace
This is the necklace I am working on now; it is the partner to the Grasses bracelet that was previously posted. I am lengthening it because the beads are large at about 8-9mm wide. Some of the chain from the bracelet will be attached near the clasp so that the necklace will be adjustable.
This isn’t the greatest photo because the detail is not apparent on the pendant. It is the same image as is on the bracelet, just stuck onto a bigger disk and embellished with my little star button. I am fairly pleased with the outcome but am reserving full judgment until it’s completed. I love the calcite beads since they are close to the color of the grass which inspired this set, and I love the rustic finish on them.
This one has taken a long time to finish; inspiration did not come easily this time. It will be posted very soon.

Just a note about Grasses necklace. It isn’t adjustable after all; after trying it on the 19″ length is perfect. Of course we always try to accommodate customers and are always open if anyone needs a necklace a bit longer or shorter. I needed to post this because it’s obvious at the website the necklace is one length.

This necklace is scheduled for posting this weekend, in addition to a couple of updated photos on other pieces.
The fisherman’s bracelet has been reworked into classier design; we switched from the wide cowhide to a corded leather. It still has a masculine look but the new design shows off the fish plate in a better way.
Another piece that has been changed is the Seashell Pendant necklace, originally offered on leather cord. The necklace is now strung with shell bead and freshwater pearls. Everyone around here who has seen it really loves the ‘upgrade’! It will still be available on leather with the addition of shiny black leather cord. We have also discussed offering for jewelry that includes natural leather a reasonably priced a replacement cord if the leather darkens too much with age.
I am working on a new pair of shell earrings–moving near the Gulf in the last year must really have worked some influence on me! They have a simple sterling chandelier-type finding. These earrings demand a specific size of shell so I am dealing with the PMC issues of clay thickness and firing times for consistency and that can be time-consuming. We are getting there! As an aside, I have one more ‘beachy’ bracelet blueprint that’s beggin’ birthin’ and how do you like that for alliteration? Maybe once that is accomplished other projects such as my ‘hornet’s nest’ pendant, my son’s storybook, my mom’s watercolor Christmas present…will move up in the queue.
