Lots of sterling, texture and dimension are present in this pendant as a setting for lovely variscite, one of our favorite stones for its wide range of color and patterns—like turquoise, really, with which variscite is often confused. But copper gives turquoise its ranges of blues, while chromium and vanadium, rather, instead give variscite its range of greens. The stone is also softer than turquoise, and more rare. The stone itself contributes to the dimension of the piece, a landscape that draws the eye into the piece. I wonder what time of day it portrays? Pendant length: 1.5″.
